Design Engineer

Oktav is hiring a design engineer to join the studio. You will work on client websites, stores and apps, and on the small tools we build for ourselves.

What you will do

• Build interfaces from our designs, and push back when a design will not work in the browser.

• Work in React, Next.js and Framer, and choose the right one for each project.

• Own the details: focus states, loading states, the last hover.

• Talk to clients directly. We have no project managers.

What we look for

• Four or more years building for the web.

• A portfolio that shows both design and code.

• Care for accessibility and performance, and the habit of measuring both.

• Written English that is clear and short.

How we hire

1. A 30-minute call with Inês or Tomás.

2. A paid task, capped at six hours.

3. A day with the team, remote or in Lisbon.

4. An answer within a week of that day.
